I've had countless people ask me how I write so much. I may not write the best stuff out there, but I do write a lot, and not a lot of it is similar. And there is a technique. It's simple, it's easy, and it's entirely up to how you want to do it.
There's only one rule. Don't stress. Start with a fresh tank of creativity. Let it flow out of you at full speed. When it runs out, take a break for a day or two. Let it refill. There's no rush to make good writings. Odds are, 9 out of every 10 things you write will suck. Hands down. But it's the tenth one that matters. The more you rush, the less quality will be in the tenth one.
Now, if you get on a creative drought (writer's block), it's okay to listen to songs, read other poems/stories, or anything and borrow from that. I do it all the time, but I've never plagiarized. Not once. It helps jump-start your creative motors and refill your tank.
Another thing I hear a lot about is getting bored with something. People (myself included) who are trying to write books tend to get bored with their stories and want to do something else. What do you do? Abandon something you've put so much work into and start fresh? Or keep going with the drudgery of finishing up? NEITHER! What I do, is I save it (or store if it's not on the CP) to a file in my personal folder and never look at it again. Then I start my new story. Then, when I get bored with that, I go back to my old one and work on that. Sometimes, I'll have three or four stories going at the same time.
Finally, remember, critique is EVERYTHING! Publish your work, even if you don't like it, and let people tell you their likes, dislikes, and favorites about your work. This will help you evolve as a writer, a person, and an artist.
